ARC Canada President & CEO, Norman JD Sawyer, Will Attend Signing Ceremony For SMR Technology Development For Canada

Toronto, Ontario – On Sunday, December 1st, Norman JD Sawyer, President & CEO of ARC Canada, will attend the signing ceremony between the province of New Brunswick, Ontario and Saskatchewan to work in collaboration in developing Small Modular Reactors (SMR) in an effort to mitigate the effects of climate change.

“I believe with the signing of this memorandum these three provinces are laying the foundation for the full inclusion of New Brunswick in the Canadian nuclear landscape aligning directly with ARC Canada’s vision,” Mr. Sawyer continues, “New Brunswick brings so much to the table including a “Fit-for-Service” site, strong nuclear background, safe and effective nuclear operator, flexible workforce and ideal academia supporting development and innovation.”

Combining the strengths of three provinces should demonstrate to the Federal Government the importance of SMR development in supporting the Canadian climate change goals. “The Province of New Brunswick has been visionary in its approach in nuclear technology development and ARC Canada is looking forward to continuing its efforts to support such climate change initiatives with this latest collaborative effort by New Brunswick, Ontario and Saskatchewan,” say Mr. Sawyer, “ and this action validates our view that New Brunswick is a policy leader in addressing climate change”.
