ARC Clean Energy Canada Announces Expansion & Leadership Succession

Saint John, New Brunswick – Following several busy months of growth, ARC Clean Energy Canada Inc. (ARC Canada) has announced the office expansion of its Canadian operations, headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick to support several rounds of hiring over the coming months. The company also shared news that current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Norman JD Sawyer, will be stepping down at the end of this month, returning to his work as a private consultant.

“The foundation has been laid for the continued growth of ARC Canada in New Brunswick and I am proud of the work the team has accomplished during my tenure,” said Mr. Sawyer. “It all started with a key to an empty office and a vision. Throughout my time, I am very proud of the work accomplished by ARC Canada in meeting its milestones, including completing the first phase of the Canadian Regulators Vendor Design Review and establishing a partnership with the Province of New Brunswick, along with NB Power. All this work has strengthened the established Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Cluster in the Province of New Brunswick.”

With this announcement, the Chairman of the Board of ARC Canada is happy to announce the appointment of Mr. William (Bill) Labbe to the position of CEO of ARC Canada. “Norm will be missed by the organization and he is to be commended for his significant accomplishments,” Mr. Don Wolf said. “ARC Canada will now continue down the path of success with Mr. Labbe as CEO who brings significant project development experience to compliment the foundational work achieved by Mr. Sawyer.”

The transition from Mr. Sawyer to Mr. Labbe has been ongoing for some time as part of succession planning. With the opening of the new office now in place, several rounds of new hires to be announced over the coming weeks and the start of the second phase of the Canadian Regulatory review, the opportunity for a smooth transition presented itself.
